Cat rescue in Benidorm and the Marina Baixa
You searched for an animal shelter in Benidorm and found us instead. We're Cat's Club Benidorm, a cat rescue: not a shelter in the usual sense, because we don't have a refuge, but a group of volunteers who take cats off the street and care for them at home until we find them a family. So whether you've got a cat who needs help or you're thinking about adopting, chances are we can help.
We rescue abandoned cats right across the Marina Baixa: l'Alfàs del Pi, Altea, La Nucía, Villajoyosa, Finestrat, Calp and Polop. We're a registered volunteer association in Benidorm and we work through a network of foster homes: our volunteers' own homes, where each cat lives, gets better and learns to trust people again until we find it a family. It means we really know our cats, not as a number in a cage.
So what can we do for you?
Not being a traditional shelter is actually a good thing for you. Because every cat lives in a real home rather than a cage, we genuinely know what they're like: whether they get on with other animals, whether they're shy or a total livewire. Here's what we can help with:
You want to adopt a cat
Come and meet all our cats looking for a home, each with their own story and character. They leave us neutered, vaccinated, wormed, microchipped and tested for FIV and feline leukaemia. If one steals your heart, just message us.
You've found a cat in the street
Message us and we'll point you the right way. We can't always take a cat in (it depends on a foster space being free), but we'll walk you through what to do when you find a stray cat and do whatever we can.
There's a colony near you
You don't fix a colony by removing cats, you fix it by neutering them. We'll explain the TNR method for cat colonies and how you can help us with the ones in your area.
You can't keep your own cat
Tell us what's going on. We're always short of space, but talking it through with us is always better than abandoning them.
Heads up: cats only 🐱
We only rescue cats. If you need help with a dog or the town pound, this isn't the place, but you're not left stuck: try Benidorm Town Hall or a local shelter that works with dogs.
