Fostering

Become a Foster Home

A temporary home is all that stands between a street cat and a family for life

Without foster homes, there are no rescues

Fostering is the thing that changes everything

We are not a shelter and we have no refuge: every cat we rescue sleeps that night in a volunteer's home or with a foster family. When someone opens up a spare room, we can say yes to the next cat. It really is that direct — your sofa is our rescue capacity.

Every foster home frees up a place for the next cat who needs us.

A quiet corner is enough

You don't need a big house or any experience. A quiet room, protected windows and the willingness to keep a cat company is all we ask.

You bring the company

Food, play, a hand to stroke them and a warm place to sleep. For a cat who came off the street, that already is the whole world.

The vet is on us

Every veterinary cost for the cat you foster is ours: check-ups, vaccinations, neutering and any treatment they turn out to need.

You decide how long

A few days, a few weeks, or until they find a family. We fit around what you can offer, and we never leave you alone with a situation you weren't expecting.

How it works, step by step

No endless paperwork and no tests. It's a conversation, a bit of simple preparation, and a cat in your home.

  1. 1

    You message us

One WhatsApp message and we'll talk you through it. No commitment — plenty of people write just to ask.

  2. 2

    We find the right cat

A kitten, a quiet older cat, one who needs medication… We suggest the cat who fits your home and your routine, not the other way round.

  3. 3

    You set up the corner

A room with a protected window, a litter tray, food and water. We tell you exactly what's needed and we're with you on arrival day.

  4. 4

You care for them while they wait

We keep looking for their family, post their photos and handle the visits. All you have to do is be there.

  5. 5

You wave them off to their forever home

It stings a little, we won't pretend otherwise. But you are the reason that ending happened — and the next morning there's another cat waiting for the same chance.

What you DON'T have to do

The questions we hear most from people who have never fostered. The answer is almost always "don't worry about that".

You don't pay the vet bills

Check-ups, vaccinations, tests and treatments are down to us. We go through everything with you before the cat arrives, so there are no surprises.

It isn't forever

It's a temporary home. You set how long you can manage, and we respect it.

You don't need experience

We explain everything, and we're one message away, any day and any hour.

You're not on your own

Behind every foster home there's a group of volunteers answering questions and handling emergencies.

Shall we open one more room?

Message us on WhatsApp and we'll explain how it works. No commitment, no rush, and every question you want to ask.
