With your collaboration, we can take an important step to protect community cats and the people who care for them. If you know of a feline colony in Benidorm, help us include it in the census! ❤️
📢 Important: Census of Feline Colonies in Benidorm
Cat's Club Benidorm and MANOS Y PATAS, a Volunteer Group from Benidorm, registered associations in our municipality, have joined forces to begin an official census of cat colonies to present to the Benidorm City Council.
“The goal is clear: to officially register the colonies and move towards issuing registered feeder cards, to provide security and protection for both the cats and the people who care for them.”
We know this is a long process, but we have to start somewhere. We need your help to make the census as complete as possible.
How to register your colony?
Send an email to censobenidorm@gmail.com with the following information:
• Location of the colony (street and approximate number)
• Estimated number of cats in the colony
• Estimated number of cats already neutered
• Name and contact phone number of the person/people who feed them
Deadline: from July 15 to August 31, 2026
We understand that some feeders may feel fear or distrust. That’s why we want to remind you that having the colony registered and an official card provides you with greater protection and legal security.
This initiative is part of Law 7/2023 on Animal Protection, which requires municipalities to manage feline colonies in both public and private spaces, and prohibits poisoning, harming, relocating, or preventing feeding of the cats.
Your collaboration is very important. The more information we receive, the better we can help the cats of Benidorm.
