Trapped for more than a day inside a brick, little Oli survived thanks to a rescue filled with ingenuity, teamwork, and a bit of sunflower oil.
Rescue of today: Sunday, June 7 – When sunflower oil saves a life
Yesterday, while our colleague was feeding one of her colonies, she saw a cat approaching a wall. There was a kitten inside. She got closer, but the little one was squirming and the mother was hissing, so she left them alone.
Today, passing by the same spot again, she saw that the little one was still exactly in the same place. Something was not right. Upon approaching, she discovered the dramatic reality: the little one had gotten his head stuck in one of the circular holes of the brick and was completely trapped.
“Five of us volunteers gathered to try to rescue him. Thanks to Maite and a bottle of sunflower oil, we gradually lubricated his little head until we managed to get him out. It worked!”
He was very weak, cold, and dehydrated. He had been there for more than a day... We gave him serum, warm air to raise his temperature, and we are giving him small amounts of food because he was starving.
After all the ordeal, we named him OLI (after the oil that saved his life).
Tonight he is already sleeping with a full belly, in a warm and safe place.
Welcome to the safe world, little Oli. You have had a very tough start, but you are safe now 💕

After another scare, this brave little one is full of energy again, reminding us that every day is a victory for these six rescued siblings.

After finding themselves back on the street, these two little siblings found refuge in a foster home and are now looking for a family that will allow them to continue growing together.

Thanks to people like Vanessa and Ana María, every euro raised becomes real help for the cats that need it the most.
