My Story

The case of #CAROLINA is one of those stories we will never tire of telling. 🐾💛 We rescued her on 29/08/2025. She was very, very thin and had no mobility in her hind legs. Everything pointed to her having been hit by a car. We took her directly to a veterinary clinic, and there we were told that she had a broken hip for a long time. The plan was clear: immobilization for two weeks and observe her progress. Carolina spent more than a week in a cage, but we didn’t see any improvement. Something wasn’t right… so we took her back. In that second examination, we received the hardest blow: besides her hip, she also had a broken spine. From there, a very complicated phase began. She struggled to eat kibble, we couldn’t get her to gain weight, and worst of all, she couldn’t control her urination. We had to help her empty her bladder, and there came a point where we had to put her in a diaper. The prognosis was very bad, and there was a moment when, thinking about the quality of life she would have, we considered the most painful option: to put her to sleep... But before that, we were clear about one thing: we would exhaust all possibilities. And then a small light appeared. By chance —or by destiny— we came across a girl who had lived something similar with her cat and told us about acupuncture. And that’s where Carolina’s real journey began. We started taking her for sessions twice a week and did daily exercises. She not only had to “learn to walk again,” but also needed to regain strength: she had lost all her muscle. And the incredible thing is that from the very first session, we saw signs of improvement. In just two months, Carolina went from not being able to walk… to moving by herself. She started using the litter box again, regained her autonomy, and we were able to take away her diaper. A change that we can only describe as a miracle. 🥹✨ The only thing pending now is the amputation of her tail, because she has no sensitivity and it bothers her. Carolina today is a different cat. Every day her personality shines more: she follows you everywhere, she loves food, she is sweet, and enjoys being petted… but she sets the pace. In her foster home, they have also discovered that Carolina is deaf. Thanks to her foster home for the enormous and constant effort, for every daily exercise, for every cleaning, for every visit, for not giving up when everything looked bad, for holding her up when Carolina couldn’t hold herself up. This miracle has a name, and it also has hands that have been there every day. 💛 In just a few months, her story has taken a huge turn… but we want the complete twist: a family. Because Carolina didn’t just survive. Carolina was reborn.
